A forum to update the community of the Limestone Coast on our work in advocating for radiation treatment to be made available for cancer patients locally.Around 20,000 members of our local community signed a petition addressed to the State Government, urging them to spend the $4.3 million of Federal Government funding on radiation treatment services in the Limestone Coast.
While the petition has been presented to the State Parliament and will be subject of a Parliamentary inquiry, the State Government remains uncommitted to supporting the establishment of radiation treatment services that would see cancer patients able to receive treatment closer to home. Instead, plans to spend the $4.3 million on consulting rooms and parking progresses.
This open forum will give the community the opportunity to hear from the working party, interested stakeholders, community leaders and most importantly gives the opportunity to HAVE YOUR SAY!
