Everybody's Oma
About
“Everybody’s Oma” is a personal story about one family’s dementia journey. During lockdown Jason Van Genderen’s playful video experiments (including setting up a supermarket in the family home!) helped his mother Hendricka make sense of her home isolation. When she moved from living at home to supportive care, Jason’s approach found hope amidst the heartbreak. Everybody’s Oma is a stirring and uplifting film because every difficult moment is testament to what humans are capable of in the name of love.“It was a fantastic evening. We laughed, we cried, we were left inspired. Beautiful. Oma’s indelible
legacy will live on along with her wonderful smile which can light up a room.” Sharon Maris.
