UWA Junior Day of Brass 2023
Calling all Brass players and enthusiasts! Join us for an exciting day of performances, workshops and masterclasses led by some of WA’s finest performers and educators including Paul De Cinque (UWA), Alan Lourens (UWA) Rob Gladstones (WASO) and Peter Younghusband (IMSS).
Whether you've just started our learning an instrument or have been playing for a few years, the Day of Brass is filled with fun, engaging and informative sessions.
Emphasis of the day will be on performing. You’ll have the opportunity to work on technique and sound in instrumental workshops and masterclasses, learning how to make the most of your practice time and how best to look after your instruments. During the day you’ll work on pieces in groups, before coming together to perform these in a fun concert at the end of the day!
Leading Brass retailer, Brass Music Specialists will be on site to answer all your brass queries, including tips on what to look for when purchasing a new instrument.
Students will be streamed into three groups:
BEGINNERS: Those who started learning in 2023
JUNIORS: Students learning for 1-3 years
INTERMEDIATE: Students learning for 3+ year (up to Grade 4/5 AMEB)
Please note we do not have an advanced stream running this year, but please get in touch via concerts@uwa.edu.au to find out about other opportunities for Brass players at the Con!
