Brisbane City Pops Orchestra presents - Golden Memories
About
As part of the Brisbane City Pops Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, we present our September concert - Golden Memories. The orchestra will perform the beautiful Fantasia on Greensleeves by Vaughan Williams, the well-known Intermezzo by Mascagni and the sublime Nimrod from Elgar's Enigma Variation. The strings will perform Palladio by Karl Jenkins, while our brass will wow you with the Prince of Denmark March (Trumpet Voluntary) by Clarke and our versatile clarinetist will feature in Golden Wedding. The orchestra will also perform Ron Hanmer’s fantastic medley, Mancini Magic, full of pieces you know and love, as well as a medley of heartfelt music from the film, Titanic. The BCPO is delighted to present Brisbane soprano, Gabrielle Diaz as our guest artist. Gabrielle will perform well loved soprano solos such as Vilia by Lehar, O My Beloved Father by Puccini, and the lively When I Hear That Gypsy Music! The orchestra will be conducted by the dynamic Neil Flottmann.
