The Brisbane City Pops Orchestra opens our 2024 concert season with - A Celebration of Musicals. Come and enjoy music from Phantom of the Opera, a selection of roaring twenties-style jazz from Chicago as well as toe-tapping favourites from Mamma Mia. The BCPO will also perform popular musical numbers such as I’ve Got You Under My Skin by Cole Porter, Matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof, Send in the Clowns by Stephen Sondheim and Seventy-Six Trombones from The Music Man as well as other Broadway showstoppers. The orchestra also welcomes soprano Katie Stenzel and tenor Greg Moore. Katie will sing Gershwin’s haunting Summertime from Porgy and Bess and Poor Wandering One from The Pirates of Penzance while Greg will perform Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King and Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. Katie and Greg will also present a selection from the great West Side Story. Conductor Andrew Robinson who will lead us in this tribute to the musical.Location
