The Jews and Islam
About:
Today the nexus between Judaism and Christianity marks a high point in the history of Jewish-Christian relations. The same cannot be said, however, about the relationship between Judaism and Islam - but this hasn’t always been the case. Indeed it can be argued that during the Middle Ages, the Islamic-Jewish connection bred relatively less violence, persecution and confrontation than relations between Christians and Jews.
Join Paul Forgasz for this thought-provoking four-week course unravelling the intricacies of the enduring relationship between the Jewish and Islamic worlds. Sifting through history, we will learn about the shift from a state of relative coexistence to the current paradigm of confrontation.
