The Welsh Society of the Sunshine Coast presents 'A Festival of Music and Singing' at the Buderim War Memorial Hall on Sunday, July 21. 2024.The Festival has evolved from two Welsh traditions, 'Gymanfa Ganu ' (Community Singing) and 'Noson Lawen'; ( A Fun Evening)
The audience will be invited to join in the community songs and have the pleasure of listening to our guest artists. Elisabeth Wallis Gaedtke is a sublime soprano with a mellifluous voice who is accompanied by her husband Scott, an accomplished accompanist and musician. The brilliant Kim Kirkman returns to sing, play the harp, the violin and who knows what else? The Corder Ballet are a trio who play recorders, piano and cello.
Early bird tickets bought in June, Groups of 8 and more and Welsh Society members pay $25 a ticket.. General admittance in July $27.
Immediately following the Festival is a complimentary afternoon tea with the best Pice ar y Maen (Welsh cakes) and Bara Brith (Speckled Bread) in Australia.
