As part of our Autumn Author Series, Turn The Page Bookshop is pleased to present an afternoon with Lia Hills - award-winning novelist, poet and translator. Lia will be discussing her most recent novel 'The Desert Knows Her Name' which was released to rave reviews. Turn The Page has sold nearly 100 copies, making it one of our best selling books in the last year.Lia wrote the novel in consultation with the Barengi Gadgin Land Council and other Wimmera communities. She developed the first draft during a stay in an old farmhouse on the edge of Wyperfeld National Park. In this stunning, lyrical novel of nature and history, a girl walks out of the desert and shakes a community to its core. Exquisitely written, it speaks to a deep longing for connection with the land, and the silences that persist in contemporary Australia.
The lunch event will be held at Phillip Island Winery and tickets include entry and a 2 course meal. Drinks can be purchased at the venue.
