About
The Piano Quartet in E♭ major, composed by Robert Schumann in 1842, stands among the most beloved masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire. Written during an especially productive period in which Schumann produced several large-scale chamber music works, it was written with his wife Clara in mind, pianist at its premiere in Leipzig in 1844. Matched here with Beethoven’s sprightly and deftly phrased Piano Trio No.1, experience the pairing of a young revolutionary and mature master in a performance bounding with energy and ambition.
