The Festival of Chamber Music welcomes renowned violinist Adam Chalabi as he performs Benjamin Britten’s youthful ‘Phantasy’ Oboe Quartet, composed when the young prodigy was just 18 years old. The unmistakable fingerprints of genius already on display, the Quartet is regarded as one of his stand-out chamber works, and the perfect foil to Lee Bradshaw’s brooding and darkly evocative String Trio Trigon. Commissioned in 2003 to critical acclaim and proclaimed as simply ‘sublime’, this is showcase music played by master musicians.Date
