An evening of yarns and songs with Fay June BallArmidale’s High Country Theatre as part of its program of developing new regional performance works is proud to present a Work-In-Progress – previewing a one woman show in development by locally based storyteller, singer and songwriter, Fay June Ball.
“I Didn’t Even Know That...” an evening of stories and songs from Fay’s life is a powerful and entertaining collection of yarns from a life that has been far from ordinary.
A natural storyteller and entertainer, Fay will take you on a journey that starts with her family history as a woman with Wiradjuri, Irish and English heritage, a heritage that includes a family connection to the family of Ned Kelly.
Years as a drag performer, with impersonations of Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison helped her find her own singing voice and go on to write her own songs which explore her First Nations roots.
Finally a unique creative identity!
