An opportunity for constituents in Bristol South to meet the candidates for the forthcoming General Election and to ask the questions that matter to you.

Friday 28th June, 7:00pm.

Totterdown Baptist Church, Jarman Hall, Sydenham Road Entrance, BS4 3DF.

Submit questions for the candidates when you book or at the start of the event.

We are doing our best to contact all candidates. If any candidate does not attend their seat will remain empty.

Hustings Rules:

1. Only the named candidates for the constituency will be permitted to participate (no stand in's).
2. Each candidate will be able to give a 2 minute opening statement at the beginning of the hustings.
3. The audience will be able to submit questions in advance of the hustings to help us identify similar questions and the most important issues, there will also be opportunities for the audience to submit questions during the hustings. The questions will not be shared with candidates prior to the event - the first candidates will know the question is when it is being asked.
4. Candidates will be seated in alphabetical order and will take turns to be the first to answer each question.
5. Candidates are encouraged to keep their answers concise (a timer will be used to keep answers to time and ensure the maximum number of questions can be asked).
6. If candidates direct an accusation at another candidate/s there will be opportunity for a short reply once all candidates have been given an opportunity to answer the original question.
7. At the end of the hustings all candidates will be invited to give a 1 minute closing statement (this will be in reverse order from the opening statements).
