The AUO will be performing live for a Central West regional audience at the Orange Regional Con. Members of the orchestra from Newcastle and Sydney will take you on a 1-hour musical journey from Bach and Mozart to the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson - all on ukes. Prior to the concert, MD Ian Porter will conduct a one hour ukulele workshop where you will learn a short Jazz piece which you can play along with the orchestra in the concert, so bring your ukes! Ticket price includes the workshop (no concert-only discounts)
All ticket holders are welcome to attend the included and optional workshop. Bring your ukulele if you have one (C6 tuning only), feel free to just come along listen if you dont.
Workshop material will be availabl on the day and will have both a strumming part and a more advanced picking part. Learn about jazzy 9th chords, hammer-ons and pull-offs, and dust-off those frets up the neck if you are a picker.
1pm Workshop starts.
2pm 15-minute break
2:15pm Concert starts. Keep your uke handy so you can join in when the orchestra performs the piece you will learn in the workshop.
