Meet The Authors: Rebecca Starling & Christine McCabe (SOLD OUT)
We are excited to be presenting two supremely talented gardeners and writers, Rebecca Starling and Christine McCabe as they launch the beautiful cut flower guide, Secrets from the Flower Farm. Rebecca and Christine will be chatting about their new book and collaboration at 6.30pm on Thursday November 7, Matilda Bookshop, Stirling.
Secrets from the Flower Farm examines innovative ways of growing and shares clever plant choices so you can cut armfuls of flowers for months on end. Farmer-florist Rebecca Starling shares her secrets to successfully growing cut flowers for your home. Whether your growing space is large or small, it’s remarkably easy to be surrounded by colour for many months of the year. If you've ever wondered what the secret is to growing abundant cut flowers even in unpredictable conditions, this is your complete guide. A seed-to-vase journey, Secrets from the Flower Farm, shows readers how to grow flowers with incredible fragrance, discover gorgeous varieties, embrace sustainability and enjoy the magic of homegrown flowers.
Rebecca Starling is an English trained farmer-florist who studied at the Royal Horticultural Society in London, the New York Botanic Gardens, the Master Gardener program and the London Flower School. She has grown flowers in places with wildly different climatic conditions, from a thatched Cambridgeshire cottage to the mountains of Switzerland, from the humid summers and cold winters of Connecticut to her current home on a flower farm on the coast of South Australia.
Christine McCabe is an expert gardener and a senior contributing editor for The Weekend Australian's Travel + Luxury supplement. She is the author of Adelaide Hills Gardens (Thames & Hudson Australia).
Tickets are $12 (& include a glass of award-winning SC Pannell wine) or you can purchase Ticket + Book for $60 (+ a glass SC Pannell wine) (Secrets from the Flower Farm is $60 RRP) with the book to be collected at the event. Secrets from the Flower Farm will be on sale for the night for $60.
