About

Students of Brain Research (SOBR) and the Student Body of the Australasian
Neuroscience Society (ANS) have teamed up to deliver a special initiative ahead
of both organisations annual conferences
Join us for an intensive afternoon workshop teaching you how to communicate your science visually through different mediums.
Led by Dr Nicki Cranna (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and SquareCell) and PhD Candidate Roberto Bonelli, this first of its kind workshop gives students the chance to learn some tips and tricks for communicating their research in visual formats. The event is heavily subsidised so postgraduate research students who are members of either organisation can attend.
This worshop will cover:
  • • Importance of visual communication & general graphic design principles
  • • Overview of different types of visual formats (including how to prepare visual abstracts for journal papers, poster design and oral presentation slides)
  • • Oral presentation skills (for both poster and podium presentation formats)
  • Please, do not forget to bring your own laptop and charger!
