Introducing Mitzi Manna: High Yiddish Art in Low Drag
About
The hardest working girl on the stage today tells the story of how Yiddish theatre saved her life. Introducing Mitzi Manna is an evening of high Yiddish art in low drag, and includes cheap jokes, modernist poetry, filthy songs and amazing magic tricks. Giving nothing away, Ms Manna will overshare on topics from her first period to her last abortion, just as she has done on stages from Tokyo to Tel Aviv, Berlin to Buenos Aires, and Cape Town to Coney Island. The only Yiddish drag queen in the world today, Mitzi Manna was conceived by battle-hardened veteran of the Yiddish stage Shane Baker, described by the New York Times as "mugs like Jolson and mimes like Chaplin".Location
