2023 Oceania Zonal Chess Championships

ABOUT

The prestigious FIDE World Championship qualifying competitions (Open and Women’s) is open to players from Oceania Federations (Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island, Guam, Nauru, Fiji, Palau).

Venue: NewHope Community Centre. 3 Springfield Rd, Blackburn North, Victoria, Australia.

Schedule: 23rd January - 28th January, 2023

Tournaments:
Separate Open and Women’s Tournament.
9 round Swiss
Rate of Play: 90 min. / player / game plus 30 sec. per move from move one
Forfeiture time: 30 minutes from start of round.

Entry Fee: free for GM, WGM, IM, WIM. Entries close on 20th January, 2023 5 pm
Open Tournament A$180.00
Women Tournament A$150.00

Entry Requirements:
Players must be members of the participating federations.
Rating requirement for AUS players: above ACF 1000 or FIDE 1000. AUS Players below this rating will be placed on a waitlist and may be allowed to enter based on entry numbers.
Players from other federations must have a FIDE ID (entries not restricted by rating)
