Join the ACA and our expert speakers from Thynne + Macartney and Planned Cover for a CPD webinar to discuss current legal and insurance issues, their practical application to architectural practices and related risk management. This event is curated and hosted each year by our ACA Qld/NT branch. Originally held 20 July 2022.

Topics covered will include:

• Water claims (flood advice)

John Moore, Partner of Thynne + Macartney
John developed the Professional Risk Group at Thynne + Macartney over 30 years ago. His in-depth understanding of relationships assists in avoiding misunderstandings that may ultimately have a commercial impact. John has had a long history of specialist practice in the area of professional negligence and defence of professionals of various disciplines and in relation to a wide variety of claims from very large and complex matters to smaller cases in Australia and overseas. Some areas of John’s specialisation include: professional risks, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, risk management (large project, retainer and construction agreement review), commercial construction, and dispute resolution and mediations of all types.

Karen Meiklejohn, QLD/NT Branch Manager, Planned Cover
With over 30 years in the Insurance industry, Karen has worked on all classes of insurance, specialising in professional indemnity insurance. She has worked extensively with architects, engineers, building designers, real estate agents and accountants. Karen also works with members to provide education and risk management solutions.
