Banyule Beginner 1:1 Cycling Skills Session Vouchers 2024-25

This course is commissioned by Banyule City Council and led by Bike it Better.
* Note: participants MUST live, work or study in Banyule.
THE COURSE DATE, TIME AND LOCATION IS NEGOTIATED BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
It's never too late to learn to ride. You may not have learnt as a child or you may not have ridden for many years and now lack the confidence to ride.
You need a bike (ideally your own, but you can also borrow from a friend or family member or hire a bike), a helmet and some determination. Our training is always tailored to your needs and for adults of any age.
Learn to Ride - designed for absolute beginners
In these private lessons, you will learn about balancing and riding. If we have time we'll also cover some basic but essential bike control skills, such as starting, stopping, using gears, signalling, and scanning in a traffic-free environment. You will also learn strategies for riding safely on paths and local streets.
Improve Your Skills - designed for those with some previous riding experience
If you know how to ride but are a bit wobbly and lacking in confidence, then these private lessons are perfect for you. We’ll practice basic bike control skills including smooth stopping, starting, using gears, scanning, hand signals and emergency stops.
