Ben Salter at Frank's Wild Years
About
Ben Salter is going on tour in March. For the past couple of years he's been a musician in residence at Museum of Old & New Art in nipaluna/Hobart, where he's written and recorded over 200 songs, on top of the 250 odd he's already written, excellent statistic which tie in nicely with the ostensible reason for the tour, to promote a single called "Stats".Salter is the perpetual fringe-dweller/journeyman/nightwatchman of the Antipodean music community, having performed in a wide array of styles and groups including heavy rockers Giants of Science, folky collective The Gin Club, Aria-award nominated bluegrass supergroup The Wilson Pickers, post-punk trio Hownowmer and criminally underappreciated garage rock group The Young Liberals, to name a few. However these days he mainly does his solo thing, pumping out increasingly esoteric compositions, across Australia and the globe, and collaborating with lots of very cool people.
