SAM Clay School: Candelabras by Candlelight
About
Join us for a magical afternoon, handbuilding clay candle holders over nibbles, conversation and candlelight. Hosted by artist Hilary Green, you will be guided to create unique and fantastical forms fit for a candle. Hilary is a Melbourne based artist who has years of experience working with clay and finding her own way to express her imagination through sculpture. Hilary will share her personal techniques in creating organic forms and ways of finding inspiration to create functional sculptures.This workshop includes
• Preparation techniques, tools and clay discussion
• The design process
• Handbuilding basics, joining techniques and creating balance/stability
• Creative exploration, tips and tricks to find your own style
• Questions and answers around developing ideas, creative practice and inspiration
This workshop is suited to those who are beginners using clay or those who would like the chance to expand the style and explore new techniques.
Expect 3-4 wk turnround to collect
