In celebration with Bendigo’s annual PRIDE Festival, join artist Frances Cannon as they lead a self-portraiture workshop at the Gallery.Frances will guide participants through a series of easy drawing techniques that explore the art of drawing from life. This workshop is like a life drawing workshop – only you’re your own model! Be surrounded by positive affirmations and learn how to include them on your portraits.
This workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities and materials will be supplied on the day.
Frances Cannon is a queer, multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne/Narrm. They work predominantly in drawing and painting in ink, gouache and watercolour. Frances is well known for their simple yet nuanced style of black and white illustration. Frances' work examines ideas of body-love and body-loathing, anxiety, relationships, sex and sexuality, gender, and bodily functions. Their work can be viewed as diaristic as it is based on personal experience.
