Gina Perry
We are very excited to be hosting Gina Perry for the launch of her debut novel, My Father The Whale.
Sometimes the family you need is the one you choose. For nine-year-old Ruby, travelling the country with her charismatic father Mitch and busking for a living is the only life she's ever known. Stranded in a small coastal town, Ruby gains a glimpse of family life starkly different to her own, and, this causes a rift between them that will take years to heal.
Gina Perry is an award-winning author of two books of non-fiction, the acclaimed Behind the Shock Machine and The Lost Boys – both of which tell behind-the-scenes stories of two of psychology's most iconic experiments – and a science historian and former psychologist whose feature articles, columns, essays and short stories have been published in newspapers and magazines including The Age, The Australian, Cosmos and New Scientist.
Perry will be joined in conversation by award-winning author Angela Savage.
