Perth Rotary Luncheon | Isabelle Rigby | 2nd June 23
Perth Rotary Luncheon | Isabelle Rigby | “Life or death; she was only fourteen”
“My name is Isabelle Rigby. I am a 16-year-old Heart and Double Lung Transplant Recipient, who received a second chance of life in 2020 when I was fourteen years old.
I was born three months early and suffered from a condition called Pulmonary Hypertension. This meant any physical activity like running could potentially cause me to faint due to lack of oxygen. As the disease progressed, walking ten meters became difficult. Once I had my transplant, I realized I could do all of the things I thought were impossible growing up. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would represent Australia at the World Transplant Games in Athletics, recently held in Perth.
Please let me share with you, my journey to the Games”.
Isabelle will discuss the urgency of organ donors, and her association with the families of those who saved her life.
Bookings close 31st May @ 5pm
