"Voice to Parliament" free public information session
About
Later this year all Australians will be asked to vote on a change to our Constitution – to establish a Voice to Parliament. Citizens across the country are turning their minds to the pros and cons. This session aims to bring you right up to date on the issues including:- the history of constitutional change as it relates to Indigenous people
- what this proposal entails and how it came about
- views (and counter views) on the risks and benefits of voting Yes or No
- how the newly established SA First Nations Voice can provide guidance
- exactly where we are in the process, and
- what happens next.
A controversial and contemporary topic - to inform, and perhaps challenge, your thinking - in readiness for Australia’s 45th referendum.
Speaker - Megan Hender is a lawyer, turned consultant with an interest in politics, current affairs and Indigenous issues.
