ABOUT
Advanced Concert
The concert will proceed in two halves: the first is for Grade 7, 8 and Certificate Students. The second is for Associate and Licentiate candidates. There is a maximum of nine entrants possible. Associate and Licentiate concert will follow with a maximum of nine entrants also.
The Margaret Chalmers Scholarship award will be presented at the conclusion of the second concert.
The Margaret Chalmers Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship has been established by a bequest to the MTA, to enable study in Australia or abroad, by a student of any instrument or voice. Two contrasting pieces must be played. Performers must be aged 25 years or under, be residents of NSW, and be students of teachers who are MTA members. Two scholarships will be awarded in 2023, each to a value of $1000, one for an instrumentalist and one for a vocalist. Any perfomers who meet these conditions may be considered for this scholarship.
Rural and Regional Scholarship Entries
Performers from outside the greater Sydney area may submit a video performance that will be shown on a large screen at the live concert. Please contact the office for information on how to format and make the video viewable. Video performers will be adjudicated as if attending the live performance.
Closing Date for entries: 1 August. No late entries will be accepted.
