ACA WA Safety in Design Templates - on demand

The ACA WA Committee hosted this webinar on the recently updated ACA Safety in Design templates for WA. Presented by a legal expert from Jackson MacDonald. This CPD webinar was held 5 May 2023.

ACA WA released their new Safety in Design Report template and Safety in Design Hazard Identification Checklist and Register in accordance with the updated Work Health and Safety Regulation 2022. Both documents are available for download by ACA members.

The reports were updated by the legal team at Jackson MacDonald, who advised that the onus remains on architects to:

• Design structures so that so far as reasonably practicable, they do not create a risk to other people (section 22 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020); and
• Provide the client with a report that identifies hazards associated with the design of the structure (regulation 295 of the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022).

To help us understand the changes and how they apply in practice, expert IR lawyer, Greg Smith from Jackson MacDonald will talk us through the templates. This webinar incorporates a mix of presentation and recorded audience Q&A.
