Led by 'Isko at Iska sa Melbourne', Kwentong Pinoy family day event celebrates Filipino culture and language with the theme: "BALIKATAN PARA SA KALIKASAN" (Shoulder to shoulder with nature).Featuring choir performance by The Filipino Choir of St Francis Church Inc, aka "The Kiko Choir" with their rendition of a classic OPM (Original Pilipino Music) song 'Paraiso' (Paradise) and joined by Chedi Vergara, former member of the Filipino singing group "Smokey Mountain". Paraiso won the grand prize at the 1992 Tokyo Pop Music Festival.
Register for Kiko Choir Kids and participate in the "Bahay Kubo" performance at the event. You can also learn more about Chedi Vergara's music school from beginners to vocal coaching. Follow the registration prompts here to register your interest.
Guest speakers from the Philippine Consulate General Melbourne, Merri-bek City Council and Zero-tag sustainability packaging company.
Catering from Tambayan Restaurant will be served.
