Large Old Tree Walk: a Cultural perspective (SOLD OUT)

Connecting Country is teaming up with Uncle Rick Nelson from Nalderun, to deliver a cultural walk through the Quarry Reserve in Golden Point, Castlemaine. Come along and learn about our significant trees and their importance to biodiversity and the Dja Dja Wurrung. Unkle Rick will give a guided walk and talk and show us some pre-European trees that sit quietly in our landscape.You will:
• Hear all about large old trees that have existed for centuries before European arrival.
• Learn about the cultural significance of old trees in our landscape.
• Find out about caring for old trees and how you can help.
• Join a guided walk through the Quarry Reserve, part of the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park.
This is a free event for limited numbers, with lunch provided, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
