Manual Handling Refresher for Therapists – Practical Skills Workshop

This 5-hour workshop is designed specifically for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who work with individuals requiring physical assistance and mobility support. Whether you're prescribing equipment, setting up care routines, or supporting carers, this course provides the practical knowledge and confidence to deliver safe, effective, and client-centred solutions.

What to Expect:

This practical workshop revisits core manual handling principles, including how to identify hazardous tasks, reduce risk, and improve outcomes for both the person receiving support and those providing it.

You’ll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge across a range of manual handling scenarios and equipment commonly used in community, hospital, and residential care settings, including:

• Standing aids 

• Hoists and sling selection and use

• Bed mobility aids and techniques

• Slide sheets and repositioning tools
