'We'll live through a long, long row of days and drawn-out evenings; we'll endure the trails that fate sends us; we'll work for others; and finally in our old age, having never known peace, when our the hour comes, we'll die.'
Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya is a classic play now with a contemporary and intimate translation from Annie Baker.
Set in a run-down country estate cared for by saddened Uncle Vanya, his young niece Sonya and members of the home. Respected but retired Professor Serebryakov and his new and tempting wife Yelena arrive abruptly on the estate to stay indefinitely.
As the seasons change and time goes by, the cracks begin to show and unrequited love, depression, jealousy and hate starts to tear them all apart in despair.
STARRING: Alexander Whitrow, Francesca Zagajewska, Ellie Schaefer, Ashi Mashoof, Leo Chang, Lily Watkins, Beatrice Blackwell & Deli Brophy.
