Mental Health Apps in Clinical Practice
About
There are thousands of mental health apps available, but it can be difficult to know which are evidence-based, secure, or will be beneficial for clients. This presentation will help you integrate apps and digital tools into your clinical practice, including an overview of the evidence-based features to look for in mental health apps, how to choose apps to fit with client formulations and treatment plans, and a range of example apps that are currently available. This seminar is suitable for any clinician that wants to familiarise themselves with the use of apps for mental health.
Dr David Bakker is a clinical psychologist working at the University of Tasmania and in private practice in Hobart. He developed and evaluated mental health app MoodMission as part of his DPsych (Clin) at Monash University, and has been involved in a number of other mental health tech projects.
