Francis Plagne & Warm Currency
Labelmates (on London's Horn of Plenty) and touring companions, Francis Plagne and Warm Currency bring their respective takes on extended song and woozy tape-muck to the intimate surrounds of Tempo Rubato.
Warm Currency is the duo of MP Hopkins and Mary MacDougall. Both prolific visual artists, Warm Currency extends from their visual practices in the form of quietly intense folk music, song-poems, and concrète collages that unfold with a delicate physicality. Their debut album Returns (2022) and cassette Live at the Petersham Bowling Club (2023) were released by Horn of Plenty.
Francis Plagne's work integrates idiosyncratic forms of songwriting with other approaches including group improvisation, instrumental miniatures and domestic musique concrète. His latest releases are Udge (Horn of Plenty, 2023) and Into Closed Air (Bison, 2023).
He is joined by frequent collaborators Alex Macfarlane (bass), Maria Moles (percussion), Zach Schneider (guitar).
