The Ecology of Silence and Reverberant Shadows II
Pianist Danaƫ Killian presents a powerful solo recital structured around Lewis Ingham's Ec(h)o, a sonic depiction of human influence on the planet. Written for Killian, this work responds to environmental degradation, drawing upon climate data, fossil fuel exports, and nuclear detonations, using the piano to explore the traces, or echoes, of human existence in our natural world.
Killian is known for her intense originality and interpretive power in the performance of modern music. Acutely expressive yet ferociously anti-romantic, this program is subtitled The Echo that Howls into the Sky.
