ACA Regional & Rural Chapter - November 2024
About
Agenda: Navigating life’s toughest moments; Adapting after loss through a trauma informed lens.Anika’s presentation is a comprehensive, trauma-informed guide showcasing various models of grief and the different types of grief and loss we experience throughout our lives. It will explore how we can integrate this knowledge into our clinical work with clients, with the purpose of supporting our clients to adapt to life after a loss and move forward, NOT on.
She will showcase how we can look after ourselves as clinicians when working with loss, when we experience losses of our own, and how we can show up for the people we love when they are experiencing grief. Drawing from her lived experience with loss, Anika will reflect on how she found meaning in her journey and transitioned from the media and communication industry to a career in mental health.
