This webinar covers land use safety planning for chlorine gas facilities, providing an overview of the application of safety and planning regulations to hazardous chemicals including the primary planning instruments for chlorine installations.Ben Fleming, Senior Safety Advisor at the Major Hazard Facilities Unit within the Office of Industrial Relations will outline the current planning legacy and also the ideal planning outcomes. Ben is a chemical engineer with 15 years design experience in metals and oil refining, gas and chemicals industry and 10 years with OIR.
The webinar will focus on the use of 920kg chlorine drums in vacuum eductor chlorination systems for water treatment (which covers 99% of chlorine use in Queensland) and define the hazardous consequences of interest for chlorine.
Finally, the webinar will go through a Case Study of Caboolture Recycled Water Treatment Plant followed by a Q&A session.
