Horse Park and Elm Grove, Canberra
About
Join AGHS members on an afternoon visit to the historic homesteads Horse Park and Elm Grove in Gungahlin in the north of Canberra. These are two of the oldest continually occupied and worked rural properties in the ACT, with Horse Park established by John Gillespie in 1853 and the almost adjacent Elm Grove by his son James in 1882. Both are on the ACT Heritage Register. This is a wonderful opportunity for AGHS members and friends to visit these two properties. Our thanks to AGHS member, garden columnist and horticulturist Jackie Warburton.
We will start at Horse Park for a walk and talk, with light refreshments, then drive the short distance to Elm Grove for another walk and talk visit.
This is NOT a visit to the interior of the homesteads - we are visiting the precincts and gardens.
Cost $15 AGHS members; $20 not AGHS members (includes light refreshments).
