Craftivist Workshop with Jacqui Tinkler and Peita Vincent
About
For too long, Craft has been “feminised” and its value as an artform overlooked. It is time craft in all its many forms and styles is placed front and centre, and its historic role in women’s political activism and social change recognised. In this workshop, participants will learn about the history of Craftivism (craft + activism) and then join forces to choose an issue that matters to the collective before planning and creating an artwork based on that theme, using a variety of craft materials.
Craftivism takes many shapes – from small and secret to large-scale and in full public view – and is a way for craft makers to creatively engage in issues that matter to them. Come along to let your creativity and revolutionary spirit run wild!
