St Mary's College Parent Information Evening - Stymie (CANCELLED)
About
St Mary's College invites you to attend our Parent Information Evening with Rachel Downie, the 2020 QLD Australian of the Year.Rachel will share information about Stymie and all things cyberwellness, digital parenting styles, digital boundary setting, parental controls and lawful use of social media. See the attached poster for more information.
Stymie allows your child to send anonymous notifications about someone who they believe is being harmed. They can also ask about help for themselves.
Stymie allows the students, as bystanders to remain anonymous, gives them the courage to overcome the fears and social pressures that prevent them from speaking up. It also relieves feelings of helplessness if they want to help a friend but don’t quite know how. Young people make notifications about all kinds of harm including self-harm, suicide ideation, bullying, illegal activity, sexual assault, and family violence.
Light refreshments will be served, and drinks will be available.
