What is the specific role of the building surveyor in the building approvals process? ACA WA proudly hosted the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Audit Manager, Paul da Costa for this informative webinar. Originally held 28 March 2024.
According to DMIRS, ‘The fundamental role of a building surveyor is to certify that buildings comply with the minimum technical construction standards of the National Construction Code, which comprises Volumes One and Two of the Building Code of Australia.”
This includes, but is not limited to:
- structural provisions;
- fire safety;
- access for people with a disability;
- health and amenity; and
- energy efficiency.
In this presentation + Q&A, Paul expanded on this definition and detailed a series of case studies based on recent audits.We encourage ACA WA members to share this event notice among colleagues and build their understanding of this critical part of the construction chain.
