A Day at Retford Park (SOLD OUT)
About
Join AGHS members for a self-drive day visit to Retford Park, the wonderful National Trust property in Bowral. Both house and garden are truly special.Built in 1887 by the Hordern family and lavishly redesigned by James Fairfax in the 1960s, Retford Park now contains a superb art collection. The extensive gardens are of great heritage interest - and will be spectacular in autumn.
We have booked a private group tour of the house and garden. Please arrive by 10.30 am. It is a 15 minute walk to the house, and our tour of the house will start at 11.am.
Bring your own lunch for a picnic in the garden (watch the weather!) or you may walk to Hearth Cafe, approx. 200 metres easy walk from Retford Park.
At 1.30 we will join our guide for a tour of the garden.
Numbers are limited and bookings must close on Sunday 5 May at 6 pm. (No refunds after that time). For more information contact Robyn Oates, Chair AGHS ACT Monaro Riverina Branch: robyn.oates1@bigpond.com
