Cyber Security Education - Cyber Licence Framework
About
This event presented by Associate Professor Nicola Johnson, who will provide an overview of the 2022 - 2024 Cyber Security in K-12 Schools project, which incorporated numerous consultation workshops and two reports. Unanimous support from government, industry and education workshop participants confirms the need for a standardised Cyber Security Licence as a priority for every Australian. The 'cyber licence' aims to:
• keep children (and all Australians on the Internet) as safe and secure as possible
• create cultural change towards valuing cyber security
• increase confidence in using devices safely and securely
• operate separately from the K-12 curriculum (but be informed by it)
The work has been supported by the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre Limited, whose activities are partially funded by the Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centre's Programme.
