Opening Day Celebrations: House of Gold
About
4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art invites you to join us to celebrate the opening of House of Gold, a solo exhibition by Bidjara artist Dr Christian Thompson AO, on Friday,19 April from 6pm - 8pm.
About House of Gold:
Curated by Thea Baumann, Con Gerakaris and curatorial assistant Reina Takeuchi, 'House of Gold' continues Thompson's exploration of his Southern Chinese heritage, dating back to the 1850s. Taking its title from a Chinese proverb relating to literature, this exhibition celebrates the book as a source of power and enlightenment. Thompson deconstructs relationships of power between intersectional identities and colonialism, inviting viewers to reflect on the complex narratives that define our cultural heritage.
About Dr Christian Thompson AO:

His diverse practice includes photography, video, sculpture, performance, and sound.
