Join us for our annual Boardroom Lunch with inspiring special guest speaker Lorraine Hatton, OAM (Aunty Lorraine).Aunty Lorraine began a notable 21-year career in the Australian Army in 1986, becoming a pioneer for Indigenous and non-Indigenous female servicewomen. She served in various operations, including peacekeeping and war efforts. In 2003, she became the first Aboriginal female promoted to Warrant Officer. Her career culminated in 2006 as the Communications Manager for the Australian Army Special Forces in Afghanistan before retiring in 2007.
In May 2020, she was appointed Indigenous Elder of the Australian Army, advising the Chief of Army on Indigenous issues and serving on the Army Indigenous Capability Advisory Board. Her role includes representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island personnel and fostering community relations. In January 2019, she received the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her service to the Indigenous community.
