This talk explores case studies to encourage the use of listening, looking, watching, feeling and even dialogue with the built fabric to aid understanding of its construction, behaviour and well-being.
About the speaker
Peter Baxendale is Principal Structural Engineer at MEnD Consulting and a well-known heritage engineer in WA with over 30 years’ experience in the state and UK heritage environments. He started his career in the City of York (UK) as a municipal engineer during the week and a volunteer archaeologist at weekends. Peter has enjoyed commissions at hundreds of the state’s heritage places, sat on heritage industry reference groups, lectured in structural building conservation and is a proud founding board member and secretary of the Heritage Skills Association.

This series will showcase a range of local heritage professionals shining the spotlight on WA heritage places, projects, current challenges as well as provide a chance to meet other individuals interested in or working in these spaces.
Anyone with an interest in learning more about heritage and our environment is invited to attend as well as those studying, working or looking to enter the industry.
