SheSPEAKS: Empowering Women Through Self-Care
About
Join us for an engaging and transformative workshop designed to redefine self-care for women. In a society where women often prioritise caring for others over themselves, it's time to challenge the narrative and empower women to embrace self-care as a vital aspect of their lives. This workshop, presented by expert facilitators: Professor Narelle Lemon, Professor Julie Ann Pooley and Professor Verena Thomas, will provide you with the tools and knowledge to make self-care achievable and meaningful. This workshop is designed for women aged 18 years plus of all backgrounds who desire to prioritise their wellbeing and break free from the stigma surrounding self-care. Whether you are a busy professional, a caregiver, or simply someone seeking to enhance your overall wellbeing, this workshop is for you.
SheSpeaks, a transformative workshop and podcast series designed for women or those who identify as women over 18 years of age in Western Australia. Together we will explore the power of self-care, amplify your voice by hearing stories of what self-care can look like from a proactive perspective, and connect with a supportive community.
This workshop is part of a project that aims to:
1. Facilitate wellbeing education workshops across multiple areas that translates the latest wellbeing science through a tangible and proactive self-care framework for WA women.
2. Co-design and produce a new podcast called “SheSpeaks” that amplifies WA women’s voices and highlights what self-care looks like and how it can impact wellbeing and flourishing in positive ways.
3. Evaluate the impact of the workshops and podcast curated across a variety of formats including a survey, mini documentary, written report, publications, and public presentations.
Please note: by participating in this study, you consent to the research team collecting and using personal information (name and contact details only) about you for the research project only to support enrolment in the workshop, sending out survey information and booking a podcast recording time.
