Monash Animated Notation Ensemble
Monash Animated Notation Ensemble (MANE) is an ensemble of staff, postgraduate students and alumni that resides at Monash University's School of Music and Performance. It focuses exclusively on music scored using animated notation: a predominately graphic music notation that engages dynamic characteristics on screen media.
Established in 2019, the ensemble is directed by Professor Cat Hope. It has a flexible instrumentation, which currently features:
Cat Hope - flute
Nicole Canham - clarinet and taragato
Anna McMichael - violin
Aaron Wyatt - viola
Gemma Kneale - cello
Helen Svoboda - Double Bass
Chloe Sobek - Violine
Iran Sanadzadeh and Jaslyn Robertson - electronics
They perform new works by James Rushford, Amanda Cole, Cat Hope, Cissi Tsang and Jassy Robertson.
Tickets are free of charge. But you do need to book your spot.
