The Annual Jessie Street Trust Fundraising Lunch, held since 1989, is dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Jessie Street, a prominent Australian activist and feminist. This event promotes social justice, gender equality, and human rights, reflecting the values and causes that Jessie Street passionately advocated for throughout her life.The lunch serves as a platform for discussing the issues that Jessie fought for, and that we are still fighting for today. Distinguished speakers, including activists, scholars, and public figures, share their insights on contemporary issues related to social justice and gender equality. Attendees engage in meaningful discussions, network with like-minded individuals, and support initiatives aligned with Jessie Street's vision of a fair and equitable society.

Julie Inman Grant
Australia's eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, is a leading voice in the fight against online abuse and exploitation. With extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, she has been instrumental in shaping policies and initiatives that promote online safety and protect vulnerable populations. Julie will provide insights into gendered violence in digital spaces, the pervasive impact of technology-facilitated abuse, and the collective responsibility of men, women, and digital regulation amidst the growing imperative for change.
David Leser
Acclaimed journalist and author David Leser has written extensively on gender issues, human rights, and social justice. His book 'Women, Men & the Whole Damn Thing' explores the #MeToo movement and the broader conversation about gender relations and power dynamics. David will share his perspective on the societal issue of violence against women and explore actionable steps to reduce its incidence.

Liz Broderick, Jessie Street Trust chair, the former Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner and former UN special rapporteur for Discrimination against Women and Girls since 2017, is renowned for her relentless advocacy for gender equality and her transformative impact on public policy and societal attitudes towards women. As a leader of multiple national inquiries, including the Review into the Treatment of Women in the Australian Defence Force, Liz has driven significant reforms to advance women's rights. She is also the founder of the globally recognised Champions of Change initiative, which mobilises influential people in the community to promote gender equality.
