Creative Recovery - Wayapa Wuurrkk
About
Join facilitator Kija Williams for a morning on the foreshore at Cooya Beach, sharing stories & quiet contemplation as we explore a mindfulness practice of Wayapa Wuurrkk, a wellness modality based on first nations wisdom of connecting to-country. Come together and learn about fourteen Earth elements and their physical movements.Wayapa was created to change thinking around how we view the idea of what it means to be well with a focus on Indigenous thinking that includes learning how to develop a relationship with our environment through the concept of ancient earth mindfulness. Wayapa facilitates opportunities to mindfully re-connect to our natural environment, our Mother Earth. All of our ancestors once lived in harmony with the natural elements on earth. Over time much of this ancient wisdom has been lost or forgotten in the modern world. Wayapa wakes up and ignites our inner custodial responsibility and sense of belonging that flows in all of us, passed down our lines.
