Vanessa Sharman - The Australian Lullaby Project
Vanessa Sharman is an Australian classical pianist with an avid interest in contemporary music and forging creative relationships with composers.
Commissioned and performed by Vanessa, Lullabies is a concert of deeply personal emotions and soundscapes. It features the Australian premiere of 12 brand new commissioned works, plus rarely played lullabies, most of which were written for friends of the composers.
Each work is between 3-5 minutes and showcases each composer's take on the essence of the Lullaby. The works range from the intensely personal to dreamy, sonorous sounds, or a dissonant beginning before a lull, and are performed before a backdrop of coloured light.
